Our Day at the Zoo

Last Saturday we decided to head over to San Francisco to go to the zoo. I had to take some photos of a house for sale in Manteca in the morning so we didn’t arrive at the zoo until about 1:30pm. Despite it being a Saturday there weren’t very many people. It was nice not having to fight through crowds with a stroller.

Victoria had a lot of fun looking at all the different animals. Rotchana was a little disappointment there weren’t any elephants despite being completely terrified by them. Victoria’s favorite animals turned out to be the goats at the Children’s Petting Zoo. She didn’t have any hesitation putting her hand out to feed them unlike her mother.

We spent several hours walking around looking at the animals before deciding to head over to Fisherman’s Wharf for an early dinner. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe. It’s way overpriced for the food they provide, but it was a fun time for Rotchana and Victoria. Victoria was mesmerized by the fish swimming in the tank next to our table.

After eating dinner we headed over to Union Square so Rotchana could get some Thai food at Bangkok Noodles. It’s become a tradition to stop in and bring home several containers of soups and noodles to eat over the next couple of days. It’s one of the few Thai places that she’s eaten that she’s said reminds her of home. Too bad it’s so far away.
