We woke up to a knock on the door of our hotel room early this morning. The front desk had sent up a package that had been delivered that morning. To our surprise, and overwhelming joy, the package had Rotchana’s visa! A large manila envelope was included that is sealed and must be presented to immigration once we arrive in the US. I flipped through Rotchana’s passport just to make sure the visa was included, and it was. It would have been great to receive it a day earlier so we wouldn’t be running around trying to find new flights, etc., but we’ll take it.

We’ll be heading up to her family’s village to say a few goodbyes and then come back to Bangkok to help celebrate a birthday of one of her friends. After that we’ll be heading out on an airplane on Tuesday hoping to be in California 17 hours later.
